We are excited to welcome Ms. Marquita Ray as the new Community Health Manager at NursesMC Nashville!
With 18 years of dedicated experience in education and student advocacy, Ms. Ray brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
Ms. Ray’s career began at Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), where she spent seven years as a paraprofessional supporting students with diverse learning needs. She was recognized for her commitment to student success and later served as Truancy Compliance Officer, helping to improve student attendance and engagement. Ms. Ray then transitioned to the HERO (Homeless Education Resource Office) department, where she played a key role in supporting displaced students and families, removing barriers to education and stability.
In 2024, Ms. Ray joined the charter school sector as the Dean of Climate and Culture at STEM Prep Academy. There, she led strategic initiatives to create a positive school climate and foster strong connections with students and families.
As Community Health Manager, Ms. Ray will be instrumental in connecting our students and their families to vital community resources. She will manage outreach, educational programs, and ensure that all students have access to the support they need to succeed. Her deep understanding of the educational landscape, coupled with her dedication to student advocacy, will be an asset to the NursesMC Nashville community.
Ms. Ray shared, “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself!” This philosophy is at the heart of her work, and we are thrilled to have her bring this perspective to NursesMC Nashville as we continue to support our students on their journey to becoming healthcare professionals.
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Marquita Ray to the NursesMC Nashville team!
