Dru Bredesen is a pediatric nurse practitioner with over 20 years of working in the public health and non-profit space. Currently serving as a nurse home visitor with Nurses for Newborns providing support to at-risk families, Dru has a passion for reducing maternal/ child morbidity and mortality, public health equality, and promoting early childhood development and mental health. Previous roles include Vanderbilt cardiopharmacology research and Quality Improvement for the TN Department of Health. As an enthusiastic reader, Dru also serves as Board Chair for Nashville Book Connection, a non-profit connecting kids with books they love, as well as volunteering with the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation. In her spare time, Dru enjoys running with her dogs, traveling, baking, and raising her school-aged children.
